Filing a Complaint
A complaint is an expression of concern about the conduct or action of any person or funeral services business licensed pursuant to the Funeral Services Act and Regulations. The AFSRB will investigate concerns that fall under our jurisdiction and that the AFSRB has authority over.
Some of the concerns that the AFSRB does not have authority over and therefore are unable to investigate are: concerns regarding the cost of goods and services (pricing is not captured in the Funeral Services legislation) environmental issues such as crematory emissions (the AFSRB does not have the expertise or authority to investigate air quality, however we can confirm proper operating procedures and processes are followed) concerns regarding decedent care at hospitals, the medical examiner's office or other hospice care facilities
If you are unsure if the AFSRB would be able to investigate your concern, you can call the AFSRB office at 1-800-563-4652 or at 780-452-6130 to discuss your particular situation.
